Hail a brand new year

Haven’t been to church for quite some time but attending mid-night mass was indeed great.

“Our family is the greatest blessing from God and when our family is there, we know that our prayers are answered.”

I guess that is true and exactly how I felt every time I saw my mom online or when she picked up the phone. I got really upset and nervous when she switched her phone off, no signal or busy, probably I am just too afraid of being left abandoned.

What’s past is in the past forever and the future is yet to come. Hail a brand new year and I will not dwell in the darkness of the past but move on to a life that is truly my own.

Happy new year my dear family and friends. Thank you my lord for keeping them safe and happy. Amen.

Selfless Living

Luke 21:1-4

When Jesus looked up he saw some wealthy peopl putting their offerings into the treasury and he noticed a poor widow putting in two small coins. He said, “I tell you truly, this poor widow put in more than all the rest; for those others have all made offerings from their surplus wealth, but she, from her poverty, has offered her whole livelihood.”

True love does not calculate; it spends lavishly. Love is more precious than gold or wealth. Jesus taught that real giving must come from the heart. A gift that is given with a grudge or for display loses its value. But a gift given out of love, with a spirit of generosity and sacrifice, is precious. The amount or size of the gift does not matter as much as the cost to the giver. The poor widow could have kept one of her coins, but instead she recklessly gave away all she had. Jesus praised someone who gave barely a penny–how insignificant a sum–because it was everything she had, her whole living. What we have to offer may be little, but if it comes from the heart, it means lots. If we put all we have at the Lord’s disposal, no matter how insignificant it may seem, then God can do with it and with us that is beyond our reckoning.

“Lord Jesus, your love knows no bounds and you give without measure. All that I have comes from you. May I give freely and generously in gratitude fro all that you have given to me. Take my life and all that I possess–my gifts, talents, time and resources–and use them as you see fit for your glory.”

My Destiny

Everyone can achieve their fullest potential. Who we are might be predetermined, but the path we follow is always of our own choosing. We should never allow our fears or the expectations of others to set the frontier of our destiny. The destiny cannot be changed, but can be challenged. One was born as many men, and dies as a single one.
